Nothing in this policy reduces your statutory consumer rights. Sale and discounted goods have the same legal protections as full-price goods.
Faulty, damaged or misdescribed goods
If goods are faulty, not as described or not fit for their usual or agreed purpose, contact us with proof of purchase. UK consumer law may give you a short-term right to reject goods within 30 days, or rights to a repair, replacement, price reduction or refund depending on the circumstances and timing.
If an item appears damaged in transit, retain the product and packaging and send photographs where possible. For perishable bait, contact us as soon as reasonably possible because its condition can change quickly.
Changing your mind about a distance order
For most goods ordered online, by mail or by telephone, you can cancel without giving a reason by telling us within 14 days after the day you receive the goods. You then have a further 14 days to return them.
You may inspect goods as you would in a shop. We may reduce a refund where handling goes beyond what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of the goods and their value is diminished.
Exceptions to change-of-mind cancellation
The statutory change-of-mind right does not normally apply to:
- goods liable to deteriorate or expire rapidly, including many fresh, frozen or chilled bait products;
- personalised or made-to-order goods;
- sealed goods unsuitable for return for health or hygiene reasons once unsealed; or
- other categories excluded by law.
These exceptions do not remove your rights where goods are faulty, damaged or misdescribed.
In-store purchases
For goods bought in person, there is no automatic legal right to a refund merely because you change your mind. We may offer an exchange or credit at our discretion. Your statutory remedies for faulty or misdescribed goods still apply.
How to request a return
- Email [email protected] or call 07486 899324, giving your name, proof of purchase, item details and reason for the request.
- Wait for return instructions so temperature-sensitive, bulky or restricted goods are handled correctly.
- Unless agreed otherwise, return goods to Quids In Bait and Tackle, Unit 40, The Storepark, Marfleet Avenue, Hull, HU9 5RS. Obtain proof of posting where goods are sent.
Return costs
We will pay reasonable return costs where goods are faulty, damaged, misdescribed or sent incorrectly. For a change-of-mind cancellation, you are responsible for direct return costs unless we agreed otherwise or failed to provide required information before the contract.
Refund timing and method
For a valid change-of-mind cancellation, we will refund the price and the cost of our least expensive standard delivery option. Any extra amount paid for enhanced delivery is not refundable unless required by law.
We will issue the refund without undue delay and no later than 14 days after receiving the returned goods or evidence that they were sent back, whichever occurs first. We normally use the original payment method unless expressly agreed otherwise and do not charge a refund fee.
