Information we collect
- Newsletter information: your email address, the consent wording and version you agreed to, and the date and time of signup.
- Enquiries: your contact details and anything you include when you telephone or email us.
- Orders: if you buy from us outside this holding website, information needed to take payment, fulfil the order, deliver goods and deal with returns. Payment providers process card details under their own terms; we do not ask you to send card details by email.
- Technical information: our server may process an IP address and basic request details temporarily to deliver the site, prevent abuse and diagnose faults.
Why we use it
- With your consent, to send the newsletter, product news, restock alerts and promotions you requested.
- As necessary for a contract, to respond before a purchase, process an order and provide customer service.
- To meet legal obligations, including tax, accounting and consumer-law requirements.
- For our legitimate interests in answering enquiries, securing the site, preventing fraud and improving our service, where those interests do not override your rights.
Your right to object: you can object to direct marketing at any time. Email us from the subscribed address or use any unsubscribe method included in a message. We will stop using that address for marketing.
Newsletter
Signing up is optional and is not a condition of using the website or visiting the store. The holding site stores newsletter records in a protected SQLite database outside the public web directory. We do not rent or sell the mailing list. If a delivery provider is introduced, this policy will be updated to name or describe that provider before newsletter data is shared.
We keep your newsletter record until you withdraw consent or the newsletter service ends. We may retain a minimal suppression record where necessary to respect an unsubscribe request.
Who we share information with
Where necessary, information may be processed by website hosting and IT providers, payment providers, delivery carriers, professional advisers, or public authorities where the law requires it. If you accept analytics when it is available, Google processes website-usage information for us through Google Analytics. Each provider receives only what is needed for its role. We do not sell personal information.
If a service provider processes information outside the UK, we will use an applicable adequacy regulation or appropriate contractual safeguards and provide further details on request.
How long we keep it
Newsletter information is kept as described above. Enquiry records are kept only while needed to answer the enquiry and deal with related issues. Order and accounting records may be kept for the period required by tax and legal obligations, normally up to six years. Security records are kept only as long as needed to investigate or prevent misuse.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to access, correct, erase or restrict your information; object to its use; receive certain information in a portable form; and withdraw consent at any time. These rights are not always absolute. Contact us using the details above and we may need to confirm your identity.
If you are unhappy with our response, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office. We would appreciate the opportunity to address your concern first.
Cookies and browser storage
The website may offer optional Google Analytics to help us understand which pages are useful. If configured, the Google tag is not loaded and no analytics information is sent to Google until you select Accept analytics. Reject analytics is equally available. We do not enable Google advertising features or send your newsletter email address to Analytics. Analytics can process page paths, visit activity, browser and device details, and approximate location; Google may set first-party _ga cookies after consent. Google explains its processing in its privacy policy.
We store your analytics choice locally as quidsin_analytics_choice_v1. You can reopen Cookie settings in the footer to change it. Rejecting later blocks further Analytics collection and removes accessible first-party Analytics cookies; it does not erase information already processed by Google. If Analytics is not configured, no Google tag is loaded and the site only remembers dismissal of its informational notice as quidsin_privacy_notice_v1. These preference values contain no identifier and remain until you clear this site’s browser data.
We do not use advertising or marketing cookies. The newsletter consent box is separate from the analytics choice.

Links to Facebook, Google Maps and other websites take you to services with their own privacy and cookie practices. Those services do not load on this site merely because their links are displayed.
Security and changes
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information. No internet service is completely secure. We will update this notice when our processing changes and show the new date at the top.
